HOME RULE STUDY COMMISSION APPROVED BY VOTERS
Williamsport voters have unofficially approved a proposal to create a Home Rule Study Commission. About 64 percent of voters supported the measure in Tuesday’s primary election. The commission will spend the next nine months studying whether a home rule charter could benefit the city before presenting a proposed local constitution to voters in the 2027 primary election. According to the Sun Gazette, the group is required to hold its first public meeting within 15 days of certification.
