The move to regionalize police services for several municipalities in Lycoming County, is moving one step closer to becoming a reality. Old Lycoming Township will schedule a special meeting to discuss and vote on becoming a part of the Lycoming Regional Police Department. Jersey Shore Borough and Porter Township, already have approved such a measure earlier this week, according to the Sun-Gazette.

A 22 year old man who was being admitted to UPMC Williamsport, became combative and assaulted two hospital officers and a nurse, in an incident on September 7th. Trevon Wagner was charged with felony aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. Wagner was arraigned and jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail, in the Lycoming County Prison.

A 30 year old Jersey Shore man was arrested after being found with several plastic bags containing 175 grams of methamphetamines and 20 grams of marijuana, multiple hyperdermic needles, after state police were called to check on the welfare of an individual at the intersection of Routes 15 and 54, on September 8th. Colby Harris already had two warrants out for his arrest. Harris was denied bail by District Magistrate Denise Dieter.

A Lock Haven woman will spend a maximum of 60 years in prison, for the rape of a six year old child. Tonya Krout, admitted to raping the child several times over a five year period, prior to being sentenced earlier this week in Clinton County Court. Krout was ordered to register as a Lifetime Megan’s Law Offender and could get released if granted parole, after serving the first 18 years of the sentence. Krout has been charged with the abuse of a four year old in New York state, along with several other adults, according to North Central PA dot com.

According to NorthCentral PA dot com, a Loyalsock Township teen and her 8 month old child who went missing on July 31st, have been found in the Reading area. Aaliyah Diaz and her 8 month old, Nathaniel Orega Jr. were reported missing and was believed to have traveled to the Allentown area together, from a residence in the Randall Circle area of the township. No further word on the condition of the individuals were given.

A 22 year old Wysox woman was arrested for allegedly striking a man in the back of the head, with a blunt object after being involved in a fight. Erica Coolbaugh was charged with 2nd Degree Misdemeanor Simple Assault, disorderly conduct and harassment. Coolbaugh was jailed in the Bradford County Jail, in lieu of $25,000 monetary bail. Hunter Hook of Meshoppen was charged with 2nd Degree Misdemeanor Strangulation, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and harassment. Hook posted bail and was released from custody. The third man was charged with similar charges and has an active warrant for his arrest.

Traffic around Interstate 80 in Montour County was snarled due to multi vehicle crash that happened on Friday afternoon, just East of the Danville exit. Traffic was limited to just one lane for several hours, until the crash was cleaned up.

Fire crews responded to a call at Bayard Printing Group, just off Maynard Street on Thursday afternoon. According to the Sun-Gazette, smoke and flames were seen by passing motorists, from the roof area. The fire was extinguished quickly before spreading to the rest of the building.

The Hepburn-Lycoming Primary School has been honored amongst 297 schools in the United States, as a 2022 National Blue Ribbon School, according to the U.S. Department of Education. The school has an enrollment of 495 students, and houses Kindergarten through 3rd Grades. The designation is based on an Exemplary High-Performing School rating. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
